2. Lewis Carroll

2.1. Who is Lewis Carrol

Lewis Carroll (Charles Lutwidge Liddell) is mainly known as the author of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Lookingglass. The latter he wrote to explain the moves in a chess game to Alice Liddell.

There is no need to tell that he also was a fotographer of young girls in coy poses.

2.2. Jabberwocky

Twas brillig, and the slythe toves
Did gyre and gimble in th wabe;
All mimsy were the borogroves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jujub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!'

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Longtime the manxome foe he sought -
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whifling through the tulgey wood,
And burbeled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and trough
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went gallumphing back

And has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy
Oh frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
He corteled in his joy

Twas brillig, and the slythe toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogroves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
